Business Horizons, a program of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation, is a one-week, hands-on summer program offering high school students business, financial literacy, economics, leadership, entrepreneurship and teamwork training for their future in business world. A vital role at Business Horizons is the mentorship provided by on-campus adult volunteers called Industry Advisors.
Industry Advisors are business professionals who volunteer for a full week to guide a group of 10-12 students through an interactive business simulation. Industry Advisors play the most important role in the success of the program. Not only do they serve as role models from the community, they also develop a personal connection with the students that will help inspire them in the future. CLICK HERE for the Job Description
The program will be held at Central College in Pella from July 15-19, 2012. Over 100 high school students from across the state of Iowa will attend. If you are new, we will attempt to partner you with an “experienced” Advisor, or some people prefer to choose their own partner. The ABI Foundation will provide a complete training session in June 21, 2012 from approximately 10am-3pm, at the ABI Foundation offices.
