Poweshiek Iowa Development, better known as Pow I-80 will host its 7th Annual Dinner Meeting on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Grinnell Steakhouse.
Pow I-80 is pleased to have Debi Durham, the new State Director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development as the keynote speaker. Durham was appointed by Governor Terry Branstad and assumed her duties on January 14, 2011 Before assuming her position as Director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, Durham was President of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and also served as President of the Siouxland Initiative (TSI), the economic development corporation serving the tri-state metropolitan area, and the Siouxland Chamber Foundation. Grinnell’s very own Bill Menner, State Director of USDA-Rural Development, will be our capstone speaker. As many in the area know, Menner had served as the Executive Director of Poweshiek Iowa Development, Chair of Iowa Connections, a five county regional marketing group, as well as Chair of the State of Iowa’s Great Places before his appointment by the White House in July of 2009.
